Gameweek 9 Review!

KBFC  1-0  Chivas FC

With the new boosted confidence gained from their recent win against Kuda Tua, Chivas FC came into the match hoping to prey on KBFC who picked up their sixth loss of the season on Gameweek 8. But it was not easy as it seems. As the first half began, both team started attacking at both ends. As the last minutes of the 1st half approaches, Chivas FC won a corner, and during the play, the ball was seen hitting the hand of Koje, KBFC’s defender in the penalty box but was not given by the linesmen. As the Chivas FC players shouted for handball, Vasan took the ball under their nose and made a swift counter-attack and with 2 vs 1, Singh only had to make the simplest tap-in   defeating Chivas FC’s goalkeeper which happens to be the only goal of the game.

“We were very unlucky today. It was clearly a handball by their defender, but its up to the ref on this.If we were more sharp in our finishing during the 2nd half, i think we could have turn around the result”, Lowell said as he vowed that his team will bounce back next time.

Diablos   1-1   G95B

A tense match with tackles flying all around which could have been won by either sides. The 1st half of the game started slowly from both sides but it was a major turn around during the 2nd half. G95B started their 2nd half with a one gear ahead than Diablos with Sara and Chong testing Sylas with long range shots. And there it was, a goal came out of nowhere from G95B’s main player, Sara. A powerful shot by Sara straight from the kick-in flied into the net as the ball was slightly touched by Sylas’s fingertip. That goal proved to be a wake-up call for Diablos as after that, it was all Diablos with the possesion. As the last minute approaches, Diablos sent all their players upfront and it proved splendid as Logan scored the equaliser. The scoreline maintained till the fulltime whistle was blowned.

Yong Peng   5-1  Thanni Thotti

Thanni Thotti started the game brightly hoping to achieve their 1st win of the season. Anantha Kumar’s pace and skills caused Yong Peng’s defence to ran wild. But poor finishing from Thanni Thotti’s player added with quick reflexes of Ajwad denied their blistering start. After that is was all Yong Peng’s game. Their slick passing often caught Thanni Thotti’s defence napping. Aisar, Nadzrin, Apeng & Aliff punished them with their marvelous build-up play. However, Thanni Thotti didn’t went back home empty handed as Bafu scored the consolation goal after a great solo run from Anantha Kumar.

Belacan   5-1   U9

Belacan came into the game hoping to pay back their humiliation by U9 who defeated them 6-0 during the SFL 2009/2010 season. And it proved to be a sweet revenge by Belacan. 30 seconds into the game, Belacan was already a goal advantage by a long range strike from Kuwe. It was anybody’s game after that. U9 started attacking immediately but the partnership of Kuwe and Hanif in the back proves to be solid as U9 couldn’t find a way to pass through them. Naqib slotted the ball into the goal after an error throw from Wak to him. A minute after that, an error from U9′s defence who lost the ball to Hasnol in the middle of the court proves fatal to them as he scored a wonderfully taken goal raising the goal advantage. After that, it was all Belacan. Immediately from the 2nd half kick off, Ansari scored another goal. However, U9′s spirit was not broken. Slick and accurate passes from ChaOl and Ganesh finally opened Belacan’s defences and We managed to reduce the goal deficit. An overhead kick from We nearly punished Belacan’s defence but it went side netting. It was too little too late for U9 to make a comeback as Naqib again rubbed salt in U9′s wound with a last minute goal helping their team leapfrog U9 into the 2nd place of the table.

Sifut Sedut   3-1   Sindot FC

After a recent dip in Sindot FC’s form, they came into the game hoping to gain a victory to maintain their spot in the Top 6. It wasn’t easy as it seems as Sifut Sedut was eagerly looking to bounce back from an undeserved lost to StarDog in Gameweek 8. Sifut Sedut started by deploying Dziya into their attacking forces and the gloves was taken by Adeeb. A couple of chances was wasted by Sifut Sedut and a counter-attack from Azree punished them as Hafizan kept his head cool by finishing a wonderful pass from Azree. The scoreline remained the same after the 1st half. But, it was a different Sifut Sedut in the 2nd half. They reverted to their usual formation with Adeeb back in the attacking position and Dziya between the goal post. They weren’t known as ‘The King of Comeback’ for no reason, as Shairy with his quick feet and powerful shot scored 2 goals. Sindot FC’s defence was run ragged by Shairy and Adeeb, and out of nowhere, Mad scored another goal for Sifut Sedut sending Sindot FC into the bottom half of the table.

DongDong FC   2-2   Produkti

Having already becoming the 2nd highest team with goal scored after Gameweek 8, DongDong FC started the game hoping another goals galore would happen again against Produkti. Their attacking football caused many problems to the defenders of Produkti. After a couple of attacking chances, finally Hazwan & Irfan manage to score against Produkti. But until the fulltime whistle is blown, you can never rule out Produkti. Apart from Sifut Sedut, they have also staged many amazing comebacks and the 2nd goal from Irfan initiated the Comeback mode of Produkti. Ikhram the left footed player who was recently criticized for not using his powerful left foot to have a go at the goal  finally scored at the end of 1st half. It was a balanced 2nd half from both teams but Syazwan again become the hero of Produkti scoring a wonderful equaliser completing another comeback from Produkti and also sending him into the joint topscorer list together with Kumbang from StarDog with 11 goals after 9 games.

Kings Park Rangers  1-0  Kuda Tua

After losing their goalkeeper due to dislocated finger, KPR’s form have recenly dropped as they struggled to find a replacement. But in this gameweek, it proved to be no problem for them as they shocked the favorites, Kuda Tua. Coming into the game with a high motivation to beat Kuda Tua, KPR deployed Kiirthern as their stand-in goalkeeper and Kuda Tua started the game with Hannan in the offensive position. Kuda Tua controlled the possession but somehow didn’t manage to put a goal past the net as KPR showed a good disciplined defence. All of the sudden, Kiirthern came out of nowhere and placed a coolly taken shot beyond Kuda Tua’s keeper into the net. Kuda Tua tried to bounce back in the 2nd half, but their superb performance wasn’t enough as luck was not rooting for their team.

StarDog   2-1   PARU²

StarDog who was previously known as Musaib and PARU²  who was also known as Zombi Kampung Pisang during the SFL 2008/2009 season was the Class of 2014 rivals with a record of 1 win and 1 draw in favor of StarDog. Finally after 2 years, this was their 1st meeting. Kumbang and Qusyairi took the headlines as this was their first game against their former teams (Kumbang from ZKP, Qusyairi from HotDog). The game started in favor of PARU², with Lim wasting a couple of good opportunities. StarDog happened to be lost in the game as PARU² marked their players tightly making them to only manage long shots from Acap and Kumbang. In 2nd half, it was game on. A couple of seconds into the 2nd half, Lim conceded a freekick and Acap took a well-placed shot into the bottom corner of the goal beating Matthew. The goal somehow caused StarDog’s defence to shut down for a while and as a result Qusyairi intercepted a kick-in from Ewan and blasted a bullet drive shot past Neils who could only hoped for a miracle to prevent it going in. However, StarDog again got their one goal advantage back after Acap stole the ball from Lim and he blast a shot beyond the reach of Matthew. The game ended in favor of StarDog which extends their winning run to 9 out of 9.
